Under the hood, three of the four VW Tiguan trims feature a 2.0-liter TSI® 16-valve DOHC turbo four-cylinder engine rated at 201 horsepower and 207 lb-ft of torque. The top-line SEL R-Line Turbo utilizes an upgraded version of this engine that outputs 268 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. Meanwhile, the three-trim lineup of the Honda CR-V has only one available engine: a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that achieves 190 horsepower and 179 lb-ft of torque.

Infotainment

All four versions of our new VW SUV boast a premium infotainment system. One of the headliners is the 10.25-inch Volkswagen Digital Cockpit Pro®, an engaging and proprietary configurable digital instrument display. Cockpit Pro pairs with the second headliner: a 12.9-inch multifunction touchscreen that features wireless Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay®, SiriusXM® satellite radio, and a seven-speaker sound system. Moreover, the SEL R-Line upsizes to a 12-speaker Harman Kardon® sound system and a 15-inch touchscreen. The Honda CR-V simply can’t match this system.

Safety
